Non Executive Director
Grant joined the Board of Datong in June 2006. He is Vice President of Global Security and Crisis Management at Merck & Co Inc. He previously held a variety of roles within the United Stated Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) culminating in his appointment in May 2004 as executive assistant director for Law Enforcement Services until his retirement in January 2006. He qualified as a Certified Public Accountant in 1980 and currently serves as a council member of the American institute of Certified Public Accountants.
- Richard Brearley Non Executive Director
Richard joined the Board of Datong in September 2009. He is responsible for legal and compliance at Investec Bank. Prior to this he was responsible for the Listing Review project at the FSA and was a corporate partner at the law firm Nabarro LLP.
- Brian Smith Chief Executive Officer
Brian joined Datong in November 1998 as Sales Director, became Chief Executive in July 2000, became Deputy Chairman in July 2009 and was appointed as a Non-executive Director in June 2010. He previously spent 30 years with AGEMA Infrared Systems AB, the Swedish manufacturer of Forward Looking Infra-Red equipment, of which 15 years were spent as the Managing Director of their UK operations. Brian has been reappointed as CEO on an interim basis with effect from 13 July 2011.
